Blood passes the oxygen to the organs. Hemoglobin is the component in the blood which is essential to pass oxygen to the lungs. Everybody knows that oxygen is necessary to produce energy and without oxygen, humans cannot survive.

Iron helps the blood in giving its red color and transfer hemoglobin to the body. When the body is unable to produce sufficient blood cells, then it could cause hemoglobin deficiency.

Another reason for this condition is when the body is destroying the blood cells faster than it is creating the new ones. Some diseases could lead to this condition like cancer, chronic kidney disease, vitamin deficiency, porphyria, and ulcers in the digestive tract.

You may feel very tired even after doing even basic work. Pale skin is another sign of less iron in the body. As stated above, iron is necessary to help the production of hemoglobin and is the reason for the red color in the blood. Low iron will ultimately result in lesser red colored blood and cause the skin to turn pale.

Hemoglobin is also needed to carry oxygen to the lungs. If your blood has insufficient hemoglobin, then you may face shortness of breath as well. Due to the same reason, you may also suffer from frequent headaches and dizziness. Some other common signs of this condition are dry skin, sore tongue, restless legs, brittle nails, anxiety, and low body temperature.

#1 Eat Iron Rich Foods

The reason for low hemoglobin in the body is low iron. The first thing that you need to do is eat iron-rich foods. Some of such foods include spinach, tofu, potatoes, beans, bell peppers, beetroot, papaya, grapefruit, banana, peach, and kiwi. If you are not a vegan, then you can also eat the whole egg, seafood, red lean meat, and oysters.

Some people are unaware that exercises could help them in producing hemoglobin. It will not only help you in keeping fit but will also help you in getting more oxygen. For the best results, you can combine exercise with a balanced diet. Doing this will help you in attaining all the necessary nutrients that are causing health issues.


#3 Avoid Iron Blockers

There are some foods that stop the body from absorbing iron. As people are unaware of such foods, they continue consuming them and result . Tea, coffee, cola drinks, and alcohol are some of those foods.


#4 Take Iron Supplements

One of the best ways to increase iron in the body is by taking iron supplements. All these supplements will help you in getting the necessary daily iron that will contribute to increasing the amount of hemoglobin in the blood. Before you start taking such supplements, you need to consult your doctor so that they could guide you with the right dosage. Make sure to consume as per directed or else it could cause side effects.
